The Emperor's Finest
My sternguard are complete, and have been inducted into my force with their first game against Charlie's chaos marines. Contrary to popular statistics about freshly painted models doing badly in their first match, my sternguard performed admirably slaying many Khorne beserkers and chaos space marines. They made especially good use of the special issue ammunition, making a mockery of armour saves. You can see the freshly painted unit below along with my brand new painting project.

Freshly painted models have always done well for me. Urmm except perhaps a Farseer who had been spruced up rather than fully freshly painted. A bit of tarting up didn't help much against space marines in close combat.
